There are way too many excellent books to select only one.

Clearly “Atlas Shrugged” and the “Fountain Head” by Ayn Rand. While I wish the author had been better at developing relationships between individuals, the spirit lifting and the aspiring for high, worthy life goals, are at their root of continual annual sales.

“To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee is another book which demonstrates people doing what is right because it is right and aspiring for the best in people.

Alexander Dumas’ book “The Count of Monte Christo” is an excellent adventure book showing that striving to win against all odds is not only the best path to follow, but will succeed.

Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings wrote “The Yearling.” It demonstrates that life is hard with disappointments and difficult decisions, but people should persevere and strive for what they want, despite setbacks along the way. In this are life lessons for the young.

“Little Women”, “Jo’s Boys,” and “Little Men” all by Louisa May Alcott are all excellent books of doing the right thing in an entertaining way.
All of these books are about realities of life, the challenges to individuals, and that striving for the right way to do things is the reward of life. Many have been made into a movie and the book is always superior.

That's hard to choose between Sense & Sensibility by Jane Austen and Peter Pan by James M Barrie. I love them both, for obvious different reasons, but they're 2 of my top favourites.

It's a tie between "Deep Secret" and "Howl's Moving Castle" (Diana Wynne Jones). I also love "The Perilous Gard", which is set in England, but the author was American, so it doesn't really qualify.
