I have about 50-60 foreign coins, from all different countrys around the world. I currently have them all in one box, mixed together. What is an easy and inexpensive way to orgaize these, so they are sorted by country, and are easy to view?

You can buy the cardboard coin holders for different sizes of coins, all are 2x2 inches. Put your coins in those and label them by year and country. Then I found some cases made to hold the old photo slides which are also 2x2 inches. I don't know if you can still find the slide cases but ebay or a photo store may have them. They work great for storing coins.

There are a lot of systems around. Use the common 2X2 cardboard's with a Mylar window. You just staple them together. They come in dime to dollar size and world coins will fit in one of the sizes. This is the cheapest way and they will fit in the box they come in, if you buy them that way. Flips are a little more expensive and they make safety ones that have no PVC in them. You can get them with or without inserts, that can be written on. The soft plastic ones have PVC in them and should be used for short term storage only. Both items above will also fit in to pages that hold 20 coins and fit a 3 ring binder. Go to www.brooklyngallery.com they are a large dealer in supplies for coins as well as stamps. See what they have and prices are good there.

Put them in 2x2 coin holders (they are called flips) they also have binder pages that hold the "flips". Put them in these and then in a binder. then you can either buy or go to your local library and look in the world coins book By krause publishing and put on the holders country, date, name of coin, denomination, what metal its made of and the km # that identifys the coin from that country the Km number and country are the most important that tells you and other collectors what you have. You can also add on what its worth at the time.

You could put them in 2x2 envelopes with a description of the coin on the outside. Good information to have is country of origin, date, condition, denomination, where you got the coin from and how much it cost you. You can use both sides of the envelope if you have to.

There are 2x2 storage boxes available that you could put your envelopes into.

All these supplies should be available at a local coin dealers shop or you can find them on line by searching under "numismatic supplies".
