Hi
We have a website selling dvds and would like to ask you all for some ideas regarding a reward scheme for customers who refer a friend. Should we offer the current customer a reward, or the new customer a bonus for being new? Should it be money off the next order, or a free DVD? Any ideas with this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

My idea would be that the friend can choose a present (when they place their first order) for the person who recommended them.

You could limit the available presents depending on the value of the order (bigger order = bigger present).

You could offer a discount on a first order or a free DVD with either any purchase or a minimum amount for the initial purchase to new customers. You could also offer a point system for referrals which may be redeemed for products. Instead of a point system, you could offer them a free DVD either for each referral that purchases or several referrals who purchase.

I think you existing customers have shown you loyalty be recommending a friend so i would reward them. Either money off next purchase or they can bank up their referrals and receive money or vouchers

they do no longer...they use a sequence of money brokers who in certainty ponzy the money from customer to customer till it reaches the recipient of the unique loan and the broking provider makes a "service" value for his centers.
