I am a reformed smoker. I use to always have the ashtray overflowing and filled up to the brim. I would pour baking soda into the ashtray to help put out the cigarettes, or sometimes a bit of beer if the ashtray was smoking. I used lighters until they got stolen, which always seemed to happen with lighters. I have once stolen "snipes" out of a public ashtray to smoke... I know that is disgusting but that is why now I realize I was being controlled by cigarettes, and worked hard for 5 years to quit smoking. I now feel much better, and actually feel like I have just had a cigarette all the time, ie. Whenever I use to smoke a cigarette, it was primarily to correct the withdrawal symptom.
