i love him he says he loves me but he dose not want to get married after 4 1/2 years and 1 child. he says in the next 15 years who knows what will happen so why bother but i want to marry him and have more children so i coprimise was to get engaged but his backing out of that and im left feeling every empty

Your good enough to have sex with, have a child with, and be with each other for 4 1/2 years, but not marry. I would put it to him just like that. I wouldn't waste my time being with him. You want that commitment and family life- tell him this. Then I would say you have until *fill in a time frame* to propose to me and if you don't I'm leaving. I know of people who did this and it worked.

Read "The Road Less Travelled" by M. Scott Peck. (This is different from the Robert Frost poem, hehe.)
In my honest opinion, I think he doesn't really know how to love you. After 4 and a half years and a child?! That's more than enough reason to commit.
Wait another year or two (if you can) and see if he will change. But if you can't take waiting around, then maybe it's time to break it off. No matter how sad it might make you feel, it'll help you avoid the hurt that'll come from being unsure. Better for you to find a man who's willing to commit not just to five or 15 years but forever with you.

He is another example of how "signing" a piece of paper scares a man. Why don't you ask him what is he so afraid of? Tell him calmly, (not arguing, much less fighting), how he is making you feel: Empty.
Empty is a strong word. Men should realize that we are not complete without a loving woman at our side. Forgive me but I believe he must stop acting as a school child and get married, especially if you have a child.
It is irresponsible to say that "who knows in 15 years", because we are here today, but tomorrow we could be deep down in a grave.

Why such a need to get married? marriage does not mean stability anymore. Many couples live together for years and raise children very happily. He is with you, you have a child, make a great life out of it and be happy. Having more children is not the answer either. If you are going to feel miserable and empty over this then you have nothing girl. Get a grip or you will loose him.

he is telling you he is just not that into you. why give him your all with no return. you are wasting your time............. run do not walk and find out who you are and what you need and be selfish and take care of you and your baby. love yourself first. it is OK to be without a man you basically are know
