Depending on the size of the company, all you have to do is ask. They'll ususally cut you a check or donate a gift of their choice. Good Luck.

Hi Simon,
there is really only one effective way. Letters, however well written that ask for support are rarely answered and end up in the mail room trash can without ever being seen by the 'money men'.
The only effective way is to dress well, shine your shoes, etc and wear a big smile and visit the businesses you are trying to prise money from.
Remember, bosses don't just sit around drinking coffee, they work, probably harder than their employees, so their time is precious. It may need more than one visit before you get to see the 'head honcho'. First try to get to see his/her secretary and arrange an appointment to see them. If you get one you are halfway there, so be pleasant to the secretary!
When you get to see 'the boss' don't waste his/her time. Be prepared...have a 'spiel' ready. Tell him what the charity supports and why his/her help would be appreciated and what their donation could result in (watch the TV appeals, where they tell you how a £2/3/5/10 donation can change the life of a child, say, in India or elsewhere) Use that knowledge. Then say exactly what you would like given. If you would like a regular small donation each month/week/year...Tell him. If you would prefer a larger 'one-off' donation, tell him. If you want services (perhaps it is a printing firm, you could ask for publicity flyers to be printed free?) know what you want and be clear and concise with your request. Keep it short.
Be pleasant, if s/he decides not to help on this occasion ask if you could contact them later and keep your smile. A friendly cheerful demenour is the most effective prising tool you can have. Use it well.
Good luck with your efforts...It can work well and business people are just people, like you, they appreciate the need for charity help for the groups who need it...good luck.

The best approach is to contact the public relations departments of the companies whose support you wish to solicit. You need to provide them with full details of the charity, it's aspirations, target group/s etc. Think about the companies that you are writing to. Does the charity meet the needs of their staff, for example.
Also, think about what you can offer these companies in return. Perhaps you could agree to be photographed receiving a cheque from the company in the local paper etc.
Good luck, J

As you can see from their websites, they’ve added our “ClubShop Online Mall” banner to their website. By simply adding our banner to their website, any “ClubShop Online Mall” sales that come from their banner will get a percentage of their purchase donated to them. Also the person making the purchase earns a cash back rebate! It's a win-win situation! We have over 1,000 online stores and here are some examples of our partner stores in our ClubShop Online Mall:
Sears, Old Navy, Expedia, Aeropostale, eBay, Home Depot, Fossil, Callaway Golf, Bass Pro Shop, Amazon, Dell, Target, Sports Authority, Hilton Hotels, Staples, Best Buy, Dell, KB Toys, Macys, Gap, Zales, Rooms To Go, Upper Deck, ESPN Shop, Blockbuster, NHL Shop, Kohls, Pac Sun, Adidas, etc.
Also, reward points can be donated. If they select to donate and select your school, then we will send you their donation amount that they wish to donate. It's that simple!

unsure what you recommend by using charity, however the form does say that we could sell the final welfare. James Madison may be seen the father, yet he wasn't the only drafter.
