Good question Sneha. But its difficult to answer.

As for me, if I think only as an Indian, then India is better.

But in practical, America is still much superior in many ways. Infrastructure, economy, education, public safety etc etc. Being a frequent traveller in Asian countries, I know how they discriminate an Indian passport with American passport.

But let me tell you one thing here. The graph is changing. India is certainly progressing and achieving higher summits at rapid pace. I can see and feel that American economy is either stand still or downgrading.

So watch out America, India is already 2nd super power in Asia and it will not be superlative to say that it will emerge as world's super power in short future.

The question is too vague. In which sense?
America is definitely more developed economically, be it in terms of resources or earnings. Culturally, both people would shout across the fence as to who's better. Basically this is a pointless debate and shoud be left to the majority of jobless political parties and attention-seekers in the countries. As to the sentiments? What sentiments are you talking about? It really isn't anybody's fault if someone doesn't like another person's opinions.

If you mean by better as in by prosperity and unity among people the U.S is far ahead.Whats sad is that India has the cabability to be the strongest nation on earth. However in this world capability is not enough. The American motto is "one nation under god".By that motto America is successful. In India there is social divide. If that stops and every persn in India of all race or religion is considered Indian then we will be a strong nation. Then the poor will recieve aid.People will stop riots. And India will be at peace.

That has to be defined in your definition of better. America is more free than India. No two countries are better than each other. If the people of India believe they are better , then that is all that matters. Countries need to be the best they can be and not worry about being better than someone else. greed takes over when you compare to someone else. As long as these two countries help each other , that will make both of them better.

I'm sure Americans will say America and Indians will say India..
I would say there are good things and bad things about both lands..one thing for certain is America does have a large Indian community..so there is a reason why they immigrated !

Our India Govt. takes some national improvement policy. Day by dey, it has been improving gradually to our country. But, American
cuntryhas been developtd before that times. I think our india is better than America. There is some reason :-
(1). American govts. are financially strong better then India, but, they
are nvested so much money in India with high rate of interest.
firestly, they had captured our India Govt with high interest, and after that, they are tring to captured our Indian citizens with high interest by sourcing of their forign banking sectors. They are knows that , the POVERTY OF INDIA.
in this week point, and gradually, they are captured our Indian property.
(2). The American govt wants to capture all world by pressure
in any how, AMERICA loves WAR not LOVE & peace
(3) After independent our India govt takes meny several national
improvement & social intrigation planning , it has been follows
gradually to our nations.
(4) India's culture is much better then America
(5) Technically, they are great(America) but, withen a very short period, we have been improved in every sides.(India)
(6) It is a matter of regreate that, our Gretest actress SILPA SETTI was insulted by Boliwood , she was called Native Indian.
(withen this week)
sothat, how can I do imprease to America..?

When you think about Disneyland, America looks better. But when you imagine yourself on the top of WTC on 9/11, India seems better. So each one decides for himself.
