I wasn't asking "are these statements right or wrong" I wanted to know if one might considered these statements to be epithets or opinions. Maybe they are not either/or but both. Hmmm

1) Biblical Warning - The apostle Paul warns that ONE of the identifying features of the apostasy that was to come would be enforced Celibacy, "Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from MEATS, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth." (1 Timothy 4:1, 3) SOME OF THE Apostles WERE married, (1 Cor. 9:5; Luke 4:38) Paul, in setting for the qualifications for overseers and ministerial servants in the Christian Congregation, says that these men (if married) should have only ONE Wife. (1 Timothy 3:1, 2, 12; Titus 1:5, 6).
2) Opinion - Different societies allow minor children to marry, live with their families until they come 'of age,' and then move in with their spouses. So, just because they are married, doesn't mean they are sexually active. All it means is that the marriage contract has been enacted, most likely to benefit both families more than the 2 individuals involved in the actual marrige.
3) Opinion - Marriage is a State and Federal right, not a religious one. You register with the state, get your license with the state, get married through someone registered WITH the state. The person CAN BE someone of a religious nature or someone like a Justice of the Peace. The fact they have a religious title means NOTHING, they simply applied for a license to be "able" to marry, their title alone does not "give them the right" to marry. All the benefits of marriage are given by the state and federal government, such as hospital visitation, wills, and taxes.

I just consider the third statement to be a bigoted, intolerant, short sighted opinion. Actually they have nothing to do with each other, but for the purposes of the above, have been lumped in one statement.
Priests take a religious vow to not marry, its part of the game. Children cannot give informed consent, and therefore cannot enter into a legally biding agreement such as marriage, in civilized countries.
What either of those have to do with free and tax paying grown men and women demanding the same legal rights as everyone else in the country they reside in, I have no idea.

"Furthermore, priests should never be allowed to legally marry"
This is a epithet because it characterizes all priests to one view. There are Priests in many religions that are permitted to marry based on the doctrines of that faith.Catholic Priests are not the only kind of Priests.
"Furthermore, minor children should never be allowed to legally marry"
Opinion that could sound like an epithet but generally is such an overwhelmingly accepted opinion that is not as bad as the first and rather is actually an opinion that is rooted in law and society of most countries.
"Furthermore, gays should never be allowed to legally marry"
An opinion with strong epithets that make suggestions utilizing characterizations and personal beliefs

Marriage should be separated by church and state. Legal Marriages should be legal for everyone (government); Church Marriages can be left to the church (freedom of religion, be as discrimanatory as you want). There should be no distinction between marriage between any two persons in the government (no calling it "domestic partnership" or "civil union" -- just call it marriage).
You missed one...
4) three or more people should never be allowed to legally marry.
I believe all (1 through 4) should be able to legally marry, your church can discriminate all it wants.
I also believe that marriage licenses should come with non-revokable prenuptual agreements -- let your divorce stay out of our courts.

Number one is a theological construct based on tradition. Right or wrong? I don't care. I'm an atheist.
Number two is common sense based on the child's inability to be responsible and unable to be emotionally intelligent enough to make a life-altering decision.
Number three is condescending, bigoted crap based on ignorance.
