Was "Field Trip" the only episode in which Mulder "shoots" Skinner? I have vague memories of another episode where he shoots Skinner (possibly repeatedly), but I think I may be confusing it with another show (or possibly fanfiction :-) )

Mulder didn't actually shoot Skinner in Field Trip. He was certain that he and Scully were not experiencing reality, so to prove it to her he shot Skinner and the yellow hallucination ooze came out of his bullet wounds. Mulder and Scully were both hallucinating him together.
I can't think of another time Mulder shot Skinner. I know he's pointed a gun at him a couple times. Mulder never shot Scully but she shot him (in Anasazi) to prevent him from killing Krycek with the same gun that was used to kill his father.

Yeah, Field Trip was the only episode where Mulder shoot's Skinner. He punched him in the face in Anasasi. But, that was it. so, there you have it!

there are 2 episodes when Mulder threatens to shoot Scully (Pusher, Demons), 2 episodes when Scully threatens to shoot Skinner (Paper clip, Without)
