PG movies just mean that there is some contents that kids might want to watch out for that might not be appropriate but the only time age limits start are when you hit a PG-13 movie.
I saw night at the museum and the only reason why it's PG is because there is one spot that is a little suspenseful, but other wise it's a really great movie! Good choice!
Hope I could help!

Unless the theatre chain itself has age restrictions, there is no age prohibitions on any films unless rated R or NC-17 (and obviously X, but I'm assuming we're talking about the theatre in the mall). The other ratings are only guidelines for content so that parents can decide if the content is appropriate for their children.

Only the MPAA can rate a movie, as the ratings are copyrighted. There are different criteria as far as what makes a movie G. PG, PG-13, R, or NC-17.

PG+14 - parental guidance for 14 and over
G - general
F - family
R - restricted for 18 and over
Look at the ratings before going. Hopefully the little one can get in. But there may be some things that can disturb the tot, or just wouldn't understand them.

I have seen the film already, and personally someone of the age of 4 I think they are bit too young for that film!!!

The thing is with PG its always recommended that the parents watch it on their own first and then see if its recommended to be viewed by kids.

The best thing is to have a look on the film sites it should state on their when the recommended age is..... good luck.

pg is parental guideince so as long as the children are with a parent they should be allowed to see the movie its very hard for the cinema to turn people away! enjoy the movie!

For a child to see a PG unaccompanied by an adult, they have to be over 12. But there is no minimum age when the child is accompanied by an adult.

well any age in theory, although 8 is a suggested minimum. i would bear in mind though that very young children can either be an annoyance to other viewers. or may themselves be upset by the film content due to the fact that very young children cannot seperate reality and movie experience. i am not saying dont go, its up to you. however you could always take them to a real museum as an alternative.

I think a 4 year old would be fine - PG stands for Parental Guidance so I think as long as you're happy to take them to see it, its OK.

According to the BBFC:

"All ages admitted, but parents are advised that certain scenes may be unsuitable for children under 8"
