I went on a vaction to Indian with my family. It's a wonderful country.I just wanted to know what is the green leaf that they eat?
I have seen alot of them in the street chewing on it. I thought it was tobacco.Am I right?

Its a green leaf but I think turns their mouth red color.

no it isnt tobacco, its betel leaf, check link below

Thats called Paan.

Its a Betel leaf with pieces of betel nuts and some varieties may contain tobacco and lime (which is very harmful to health)

The redness is caused by one of the ingredients in it.

Is it a curry leaf? They usually put that stuff in rice to enhance the flavour.
