Big brother is not an indication of attitudes in Britain. The vast majority do not watch this - I have watched it once & it was so boring I switched off after five minutes! The viewing figures tell you that it's only a minority who watch it out of the entire population of Great Britain. Sadly, Channel 4 are scraping the bottom of naff, audience participation and cheap to run c**p programmes - Z rated 'celebrities' uneducated fur coat & no knickers slobs & a bunch of viewers satisfying their own needs to lust after a modern day version of 'what the butler saw'!! If you trade in c**p expect to get c**p results. The whole affair should be treated with the contempt it deserves & I for one resent having my country judged as being akin to attitudes in 'big brother' - it is not & it's not a political issue either. I don't watch Coronation St, Eastenders, Hollyoaks, Emmerdale, family & holiday swapping or 'Diana specials' - how others live is not entertainment - it's peeping tom stuff!

In the words of Dennis Skinner MP " Channal 4 should stop making crap programs like Big Brother ".
I was looking for the news on TV and came across BB live, two people were asleep in bed, I could not stand to watch for more than a minute, they did not move and I wondered what is the point of the program and what kind of sad people watch this rubbish. It was 9-30 on Sunday morning. You are absolutely right it is peeping tom stuff. I am fed up with hearing about the antics of these awful people on the National News as if they are of importance.

I'm not sure I agree BB is representative of a minority. The most watched TV programmes are Eastenders and Coronation St. The best selling newspapers are all gutter tabloids (at one point the Sun on its own was read by 1/5th of the population). There is a wider problem re the dumbing down of British society

It isn't entertainment - the fact that C4 gets money from the licence fee and produces this - well they don't get money to churn out mince.
