Hi,
You need to look at the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
Spent convictions do not depend on the offence, but on the sentence imposed.
For some occupations, the 1974 Act is not applicable. Such as working with children or vulnerable people.
In this case I don't think there will be a big issue. It was not an offence that involved violence. It will show up though. Employers do understand that people do things that are out of character. The person has apparently not committed further or similar offences since. I would consider it somewhat harsh for a person to be penalised in this case.
The difference is that there is no redress through the courts in these circumstances.
Hope this helps.

Depends on the job. In Scotland, where us Border Collies thrive, Disclosure Scotland is the organisation that vets people. A job in Government, Military, with children and vulnerable adults, would require disclosure. A job on a building site possibly not so important.

Once you have been punished, it is taken that you have paid the price. Full stop. No need to bring it up again. Even if through disclosure, the matter is brought to light later, use this answer to defend yourself.

It's still there.
You have to apply to the courts in order to have the file expunged.
It's not difficult but the paperwork takes a while to filter through the system.
