HEY i have the same graphics card and my video drivers actually needed updating when i went to the website and checked since my games were crashing a few days ago also. I would go to the Nvidia site, I forget what the update was called but if you look at the properties of the updates you can download by right clicking and selecting properties, it should be the one with the most recent date on it.
If your card is truly dusty, I agree with getting canned air. :) Or pay somewhere to have a look at it and possibly clean it for you could be an even safer way if you are worried about doing it yourself.
:)

Firstly, I very much doubt that dust on your graphics card is causing your laptop to crash. Dust is a powder of dry skin that easily allows heat to be absorbed and dissipate! Secondly, what messages are you getting via "Event Viewer" to describe any crashing? Thirdly, if you have the money to buy a Sony Vaio, you should think about paying out to get it serviced via a reputable dealer. Don't forget, laptops aren't desktops. They cost a lot more and require more tender love and attention.

If you do not want to open up your laptop then use canned air. If you do want to open it up, first check if you are under warranty and maybe your nearest retailer can clean it for you (for a low fee).
Also, are you sure that it is just dust? It could be a loose connection. Again check with your nearest Sony store.

The GPU and CPU are the two components interior the workstation that generate relatively some warmth. in the adventure that your utilising a 3yr previous gaming workstation to play contemporary video games then yeah it relatively is going to prepare dinner. yet besides, it relatively is regardless who makes the GPU ATi or Nvidia, they the two get fairly warm while under heavy load. and positively as a factor of pointing out, Nvidia's new fermi enjoying cards are ridiculously warm working while the 5970 runs alot cooler.

DON'T blow in it. that just causes spit to get in. use the compressed air in a can. go to any harware store. you might find it cheaper there than in a electronics area.
