There is this great product by Lo-Jack that goes on your laptop. Like the alarm that goes on your car, I think it is a great idea. Another idea is that they have fingerprint scanners that plug into your USB drive. I guess if someone wants it bad enough there is no absolute but at least they wont have the pleasure of enjoying it.

I guess there are quite a number of ways as suggested by the first guy who responded. Other options include purchasing the cable that you can "tie" to your desk on your laptop (sorry, can't remember what it's called).

To prevent access to your laptop, you could also put a password to your BIOS.

1. Don't leave it unattended
2. Lock it away at night or when you are not in your home.
3. Get it security marked by the police. (This involves the writing or a security key on it in 'invisible pen' which when under UV light shows up.

you can get a laptop cable lock, that can usually fit into a small hole in the side of your computer, and you can wrap the cable around something and then lock the computer to thata.

get a key one and not a combo one. i had a combo one and it was faulty, and it got stuck in the computer. took forever to get it out.
