When I report the card as stolen to the bank and I am issued a new one, do I just get a new card or a whole new bank account i.e acccount number as well as card?

Your Bank account stays the same.

You will get a New Card and New Pin Number (As card is a new card and not just a replacement card)

Make sure you keep a close eye on your account transactions for the next couple of weeks to make sure that any transactions are genuine.

The only time the Bank would close your account and open a new one with a new account number would be in cases of extreme multiple fraud.

Hi,
I my self work with a Bank, and i suggest you to get a new Card and there is no need to close the previouse account and open new one, when the card is lost ,it doesn't means that your account number and other things are lost with it,there is a specified data written on Debit cards, which only accepts pin numbers, and with changing the card the previouse card is locked out.

Enjoy
With Regards

As far as I know you just get a new card. I've never had my card stolen (knock on wood), but I've had problems with a card and have been issued a new card, not a new account number.
