Electronics are quite cheap I guess, if you consider the quality too. There's a place called Sim Lim Square where several stores sell reasonably priced electronics (known for being cheap and usable), and since there're all housed there, you can easily compare prices. You can try bargaining too.

As for clothes, they're not really extremely cheap, but there are still places that sell rather fashionable clothes at rather low prices. One of them is Bugis Street, an open air complex opposite Bugis Junction. There's a second level (other than the 1st level) that stocks decent clothes and accessories that are rather cheap. However, it is quite crowded most of the time.

You can also visit heartland malls or neighbourhood shops in housing estates, like Toa Payoh. Maybe you could ask the locals about these heartland shops when you arrive, because there are really quite a few of these.

By the way, just for additional information, Orchard Road is like a shopper's paradise, but the clothes there are not very cheap, because it's in town. However it's worth a visit. There's this shopping complex called Far East Plaza that has quite reasonably priced items though, but you'll have to search the shops to hunt for steals(as in bargains).

Oh, or you could visit a chain of stores called 'This Fashion'. There's one outlet at Far East Plaza. The clothes are quite fashionable and comparatively much cheaper, but not too sure about the quality though.

Yes they are, but be careful about electonics. They are not covered by international warranty. Electronics bought in Singapore ( unless duty free store) are only warranteed for the country of origin. Which may mean any faulry goods are to be returned to the Singapore supplier

They are not expensive, but never cheap.

Orchard Rioad area will cost more than places such as Chinatown, or other malls at housing estates.
