Nick Drake; Northern Sky (from the LP Bryter Layter - 1970). Was 'going out' with schoolmate called Mary, and one weekend she took me to her parent's house (they owned two horses, and were 40 miles down the road in Newmarket). This was around 1971, when I was 14 - she was 10 months older, and saw me as a 'mate' because I used to do half her homework. I basically remember it because she was my first female friend, gave me a peck on the cheek while Northern Sky was playing. The first kiss from a lass other than my mum.

The song I heard when I came out of hospital after I had my son 6 years ago was 'The Greatest Love of all' by Whitney Houston, and the first song I heard when coming out of hospital after had my daughter 3 years ago was 'Don't want to miss a thing' by Areosmith. Both very fitting if you don't think of them as love songs. Especially the Aerosmith one because it is exactly how you feel when you bring your children home. You really don't want to miss a thing.

A Day In The Life - The Beatles

Although I was only 6 years old, we played it at my Grandmothers funeral, I know it sounds daft, but every time I hear that song now, I burst into tears.

i've loads of special songs, too many to mention at the mo, but they're songs that have either, helped me through some major tough times in my life, or bascially just remind me of people who have been there for me when i needed them.
