My friend is 6'0 and she's a girl. She hates it. People always tease her for being so tall.

I would think it has to do with the fact that children are shorter than adults - therefore the shorter you are the more child-like you appear. It may also have to do with the fact that reaching your full potential height depends on good nutrition in childhood - so maybe the ruling classes tended to be taller that the peasants in times gone past when the peasant were less likely to be well-fed.

Research has shown that tall people are more successful and earn more money. Height is certainly an emotive factor - hence the fact that thrones are usually put on a dais (giving the monarch the advantage of height - even sitting down), and the less pleasant type of boss will provide his subordinates with a chair that is lower than his. They can literally 'look-down' on others.

I'm 5'10" - and hated being so tall as a teenager (I towered over most potential boyfriends!) - but have learned to love it and to use it to my advantage.

I am 6'3". I'm also a female. This caused me alot of inferiority issues as a teenager, and had you asked me this then, I would have completely disagreed with your statement. I felt that being such a tall female made me masculine and nothing like other girls.

However, I grew up, so to speak, and learned that its a matter of confidence and having a presence. I'm a big person, and when I have confidence when I enter a room, it is probably noticed a little more than a smaller woman entering the room with that same amount of confidence.

We are not superior to any one smaller than us; small people just think that. SO I can reach the stuff on the top shelf, don't have to ask for help as often, and am able to drive my truck with out a seat lift... doesn't mean a thing when it comes to who you are as a person.

I think that maybe there is a stigma with being tall and "superior" sometimes, because of all the tall, "superior" super models. The carry themselves like they are better than everyone in the room, and the happen to be tall. I can see how that assumption gets made.

Short people are more active than the taller ones. Their brain and reflexes are fast. They are clever and tricky.
Don't worry be happy.
In this life if you have some thing good on the other hand you have a bad one equivalent to it, over all it is balanced somewhere.
So don't be sensitive about height you may have something better than the taller people.
It is your subjective approach, that taller people are superior, in reality it not true.
Confident people are superior than the ones lacking it

What do you mean, mentally superior? Or what? taller people are physically superior, they are bigger. If two men were to fight, one man being 5"10 and the other being 6"4, who do you think would win?

The bigger guy, ofcourse.

I'm nearly 5"10, I feel short. But I am still growing, I hope. (I'm a teenager). In my honest opinion 5"3-5"8 are perfect heights for a women. For me I'd love to be atleast 6"0-6"4, no taller!

Short people think that taller people are superior because they always have to look up to them. In reality tall people are just on the same level as short ones.

No, they only SEEM to be superior.
They seem superior simply because we have to look up at them while they have to look down at us, so to speak.......hehe.

Being 5'0'' height is not bad at all, so don't get haunted by it anymore.
Think of those under 5'0''.......they are not haunted, why should you be?

I myself am 6ft 7inches. For a woman this is tall, and yes I am superior, because I can reach all the shelves in the supermarket and you have to get a tall person to get stuff ummmmm unless you climb up the units.

If you ever ask me about any truth in the above statement I may deny it vehemently in a court of law.

May be being tall is fashion now-a-days.
But, for this, you need not feel inferior. Because, when the taller people speak to the shorter, they have to bend their neck, lye low and speak. Whereas, the shorter, while speaking to the taller has to raise up the neck and speaks with a pride and dignity.

If you are short and feel inferior to tall people its because you are being physically looked down on
.....and this is what is making you feel intimidated.
The fact that you feel they can over power you because their taller and have a larger body frame.

I am also 5'0"! don't be intimidated, they might be able to tower over you but apart from that they don't have any advantage. Remember than most tall guys like short girls as well, it's a good thing!
