Hi there.

Simply copying boot files from your floppy diskettes to CD will NOT work. First of all, the boot files off the diskette is only made for booting off floppies only and have different startup files. What you need is to find an app that can burn your boot files to CD and make it bootable. You'll need an ISO bootable CD image.

Here's a site you can follow to make one properly

P.S. You'll need to set your computer to boot off the CD first before booting off your hdd, in your bios settings

Hope this helps

First of all, any OS installation CD these days is bootable. If you can't boot when it is in it is because you do not have the CD set to be bootable before the hard drive.

Assuming that this is the problem (a fairly common one) you need to get into the BIOS settings and change the order of the boot disks so that the CD option is listed as the first boot device. You can usually get into the BIOS when you first start the system where it will say something like "press F2 or delete to enter setup /BIOS.

generally on startup it will quickly display on the screen a key to press for the boot menu, or it will ask you to press any key to boot from CD. My boot menu is F12, but it can vary. Watch the screen carefully it will display right after startup.
