In the hotels that I've had a drink in the average price for a glass of beer is RM14. Pubs and bars is around RM10 and the coffee shops are much cheaper at around RM8.
If however you was visiting anywhere in Sarawak the price is even cheaper (Because of the beer smuggling) it's not uncommon to find 5 tins of Stella for RM10.

Depending on the place & drink. At hotels/posh reataurants price of a beer should be about RM14. Cocktails at RM16 - RM30.

it depends on which type of joint you are going, if you are going to buy beer from 7-11. it will cost you 7RM+ per can. in most pub,cafe lounge or disco it can cost from 12 to 18 per can. as for jug of beer will be from 35RM(happy hour) to 70+RM per jug. as for bottle purchase of whisky at any disco or lounge will cost you around 350RM per 100CL bottle(for brand like Johnnie Walker(black Label),JackDaniel or chivas.
besides that, most of the club and disco have covercharge on clubnite, which is normally Wednesday(Ladies nite) ,friday saturday and Sunday nights. the head charge will range from 25 to 45 RM inclusive of one drinks(In such situation, ask for beer instead of much diluted cocktail). if you have a group of 4 to 5 person, a bottle purchase is always value for money as each bottle will allow you 4 to 5 entry.
Malaysia's club normally serve CARLSBERG,TIGER and heineken.and most of the hip joint are at Jalan P.Ramlee and Asian heritage Row.

at 7-11, you can get around RM7.20/ can. happy hour at pub will be around RM35++, / jug. after happy hour will be more than RM50++/ jug.
