It's not likely that you're pregnant. If you had sex 5 days before your period, it's not likely that you could conceive. Ovulation occurs on day 14 and period usually on day 28. Eggs can generally live for up to 5 days, but usually only 2 or 3 days. You would have had sex on day 23, which makes it virtually impossible for you to be pregnant.

The symptons you're experiencing are probably hormonal. I'm not sure how old you are but in teens & early 20's especially your more prone to hormonal fluctuations.

It's not actually possible to have your period while you're pregnant, it's possible to lose blood when the placenta rubs against the edge of the uterus (this happened to me) and it appears that you've got your period, but it certainly isn't heavy. You period is when your body sheds the lining of your uterus, if you're pregnant, it needs that lining.

To make yourself feel better, you can take a pregnancy test 4 weeks to the day from when you had sex. Buy it over the counter at any pharmacy. They're 99% accurate.

I know that stress has a lot to do with women and symptoms of that sort. Are you stressed out recently? This may be a big reason. I've felt like that before, actually a couple of times, and feared being pregnant with my period still rolling because I didn't have any other reasoning for why I felt so cruddy and pregnant-like. But the doc said stress! But it's still possible to have your period and be pregnant so don't rule that out completely until you find out for sure......

you can spot while pregnant but unless you ovulate very late in your cycle you probably weren't fertile just 5 days before you started. You might have other hormone issues. If you are still fairly young, your body might be settling into a new pattern that can cause other symptoms too.

yes, my ex-fiance did and so did her mother, my ex miscarried after about 3 or 4 months, but still had periods up til then, and her mom had them almost full term.

but ... don't jump to conclusions ... a lot of symptoms that are similar can be different and usually mundane things.

I had regular periods for 7 mo of my pregnacy, then was put on bed rest because my uterus was efaced (thinning).. normally you are a higher risk pregnacy for miscarriage. Your doc should explain everything to u.

yeah--my mother didn't know she was pregnant w/ my brother until her 4th month cause she still got her period. go to the doctor just in case. sometimes you can be sick but the symptoms are similar to early pregnancy. just go to the doctor just in case.
