I always heard that people wanted him to admit that he made some mistakes and that would lead to "healing" but I haven't seen that. Same old hatred abounds.

Son, being President requires someone with persuasive abilities well above average and lets don't forget about the importance of style. The President has to be articulate and quick-witted but never underestimate the importance of style. Style is hard to define and i certainly couldn't explain it but it seems to be something my mama said that i was born with. So there you go. I wouldn't have offered an apology i would have used style and keen-witted rhetoric to define our enemies as the bumbling fools they really are. Maybe I would have put it a bit more gently, maybe not. But it would have worked. Those kinds of things always works for me. Peace my good friends. Get out and get registered. We got our work cut out for us now.

It would be nice to see a nationally televised apology. Forget about the admission of a mistake, there was no personal recognition of blame or admission of fault.

Giving his "State of the Union Address" followed by a resignation would be appropriate.

Probably because It came as soon as his party lost congress.

If a man makes a racial slur remark against blacks, then refuses to apologize with 10 blacks in a room of 100...but then apologizes as soon as 100 blacks enter the room....

is that genuine?
