I am just trying to see if my situation is more serious or something. I spend around atleast 8 hours on the computer everyday. I feel like my eyes are just so tired and sore and i want to close them and put a warm towel over them. I remember last spring I was spending a lot of time on the computer every single day and I was driving my vehicle and the weather was cloudy and I just had to pull over and just put my hands over my eyes to rest them for awhile because my eyes felt so strained. I dont get a headache so much , they just feel sore, dried out and tired and also I start having a bad habit of continuously raising my eyebrows to sort of readjust my eyes and to release tension. I do this a lot when I have been on the computer for a long time. I even am starting to get lines on my forehead from doing this so often. I have heard eye strain is common , but I am concerned I may have a unusual case. Can anybody tell me how unusual this sounds to them? Thanks.

no it isn't unusual, i usually experience strained eyes as well

take a break (about 10 mins) every 40 minutes or so from each activity requiring strenuous use of your eyes, reading, computer, etc (driving should be alright), look at some greenery, anything in the distance to ease your eyes, and either close your eyes or blink every so often

keep it up and you'll be wearing glasses or increasing the strength of your glasses, ie, you notice outlines becoming blurrier in the distance, and have trouble reading faraway text (my eyes were fine, until i started reading a lot, and then the computer also became a factor in it)

i am doing a degree so spend a lot of tome on the computer reading reports. if i have been on a long time my eyes water become gritty and sore. i went to the opticians and was given glass for when i am on the computer. go get your eyes checked out they are important but often neglected.

but also try optrex this can help. have lots breaks from the screen. fingers crossed this works.

as difference as it sounds make sure the screen is clean... if you have smears and dirt on your screen this will affect your eyes.

i usually spend anout 3-4 hrs a day on it, but i feel basically the same. eyes feel sore and dry, and it gets hard to focus on words after a while too. make sure ur taking regular breaks, even if only for 5 mins

I do 10hr shifts in front of a screen, then mess around with computers at home and never have a problem, big fast response lcd monitors are the answer, can sit here all day and not get a problem.
