I just saw the movie.

It was one of the greatest of what I have watched on my entire life.


From watching the movie, I pondered "what made those terrorists to behave that way? Those terrorists acted so desperate."

Why do those terrorists hate the West? I think this is actually the real core of the issue, when dealing with the terrorism.

I do not think the terrorists hate the West simply because they are "bad", "hate freedom" or "religious fanatics". I think they are the humans, after all and there has to be something that makes them so desparate and hate the West.


I want to hear your opinions; what do you think make the terrorists to hate the West so bad?

My thinking is, the history (colonization, and the general struggle between the West and Mid East) AND the American policy (strong support to Israel).

Although I do not suppor him, Bin Laden once said from his audio message, "West must appologize for the crimes it had commited."

Does this have any clue?

Believe it or not, your question concerning why terrorist hate the West is quite simply.

The one world answer is 'imperialism'.

I glanced over the other answers to this question and find it very distressing that ppl either are so uneducated on history or that they have absolutely no sense of the actions their own country commits on a daily basis throughout the world.

Western imperialism over the Middle East started over 100 years ago. It can be seen with British, Foreign Legions and goes back to the biased establishment of the United Nations by Western States in the late 1940s.

An important point to keep in mind also is that it was the British that were the most powerful force in the world in reference to imperialistic manipulation but this seemed to transfer to the USA as the USA became more and more powerful globally.

The USA began to lead the effort to control and manipulate the Middle East after the creation of Israel and more than ever before around the 60s.

Basically in order to summarize and not turn this into a history paper, the USA created and supported Saddam for decades, the USA armed B. Laden against Russian invasion of Afghanistan and the USA, since Israel was created, has always sought to maintain a major influence over them... even to the pt of making sure Israel is the only nuclear armed Middle Eastern nation.

Now. as Nacho Libre would say, 'Let's get down to the nitty gritty.' For those that think the 'terrorists' should just accept American imperialism, think about this: It is at the core of human nature to get fed up with a bully, to get fed up with someone always telling you what to do; but mostly, it is human nature to get MAD when a human realizes he or she has been being manipulated.

What I am saying is that a lot of the Middle East has come to realize this American imperialism and manipulation of them. The reason they know this now more than ever is due to technology having made information more easily available.

Also think about this: It has been the West sticking their noses in Middle Eastern affairs for over 100 years NOT the other way around.

Muslim terrorists were waging wars with civilization long (many centuries) before Israel, that was only born in the mid-20th century. If the U.S. suddenly abandonded sane and civil Israel and their microscopic stretch of land, do you think they would suddenly become decent?

I can assure you that one thing they detest is the liberalism promoted by Hollywood and the entertainment industry and this is how they envision Americans. Aside from this, however, there is a factory of jealousy and envy, since they live in caves because their minds are preoccupied with hatred and the only "sklls" they know have to do with violence and murder.

Yes, awesome movie. I couldn't help but put myself in it and guage what my actions would have been. I think that they hate because of one primary thing....they have been brainwashed to. I hear that these people are recruited at a very young age, and we all know that primary developement is going to play a large role in the way we think as adults. You know they were scared shitless though, when the time came.

I think that their hatred stems from their intolerance. They are the most close-minded, backward thinking people in the world and they tend to become violent when they even think that they may have somehow been insulted. I also think that the only way to deal with them is to return the favor in kind. If they ever pull another attack on American soil, I think one of their more famous landmarks should be reduced to dust. It's time to get back to Kelvinsky's Law.

Take Bin Laden for example. He has never suffered anything from the US or Israel. He comes from an incredibly wealthy family. His country was not colonized. He has no reason to hate.. except that his religion demands that Muslims fight until only Allah is worshipped.

I believe that it is our support of Israel,and they are afraid that they will become a free thinking nation.They especially do not want women intervening in policy.Most of the middle east are still living old school.
