I know i told you about it but i'm not bothered about people knowing, the only thing secret is what's inside the society.thats why i want ideas, for names, for projects and plans, designs that sort of stuff.

Why are you making a secret society if you don't have a reason for it to be secret? If you are keeping it a secret to make some sort of impression on the initiates, then perhaps the impression should figure largely ino the purpose of the organization.

So, my suggestion would be to figure out what the purpose of the secret society is. Figur out what ideas you are gong to hold as important. Then, make your plans around those ideas.

As far as organizational needs, I would follow Roberts Rules of Order for business meetings. Make sure that there is a regular communication between members. Also, you always will need money to operate unless you are holding meetings in a cave.

The Knights of Columbus was founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in Connecticut in 1882, so there is no chance that they built the church of which you speak. The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal benefit society for Catholic gentlemen. Knights make a promise not to reveal any details of the initiation ceremony. EDIT: Maybe the number is the number of the council (not "lodge"), but there were no Knights of Columbus in the 1500's. Why don't you go and talk to the priest at the Church? He should be able to answer any questions you might have. Good answer, John S. The reason for the secrecy is simple. The secrecy applies only to the initiation ceremonies, and the reason that we keep it secret is so that the ceremonies themselves will have the maximum effect on new candidates. Just like with anything else, the effect is diminished on someone who knows what to expect. (For instance, if you were going to see a movie that I had seen already, you wouldn't want me to spoil it for you by telling you the ending.) The Knights of Columbus are totally committed to God and His Holy Church. Take a look at the website if you want more information about them. God's Dark Italian Princess: I can't speak for what the Knights of Columbus were doing in 1913. I wasn't around then. However, I have been a member of the Knights of Columbus for twenty years, and I have never seen nor heard that oath at any KC function, least of all, at an initiation. I certainly never took any such oath myself.

You have a swell idea there son. But how old are you? I mean they already have the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts. They even have the Explorers. Are you a little Muslim boy by any chance? If so it might not be such a good idea, in fact I believe you would be making a heckuva big mistake getting a secret society going in that case. It could stunt your growth.

Well what kind of organization will it be and why does it have to be secret. If it's something that doesn't require secrecy, a member might just give you away.
