I don't even think we have a flashlight, let alone spare batteries. I think I could manage to find some candles and the matches in the dark, but I would probably set myself on fire lighting them

I wouldn't answer yes and yes like the rest...
I know because I can just feel around for my torchlight. It works every time.
If it had ran out of batteries,I would use the candle, or my lantern.
Psst! Guess what? I often asked my brother instead to get the torchlight,why you asked? I'm afraid of the dark!! I never dared move around.

Yes, I have two flashlights, one in my frontroom and one next to my computer, I also have more batteries in a draw in my frontroom, plus I have candles and matches, in all of the rooms in my apartment, and matches in the frontroom and computer room..
I also have 2 flashlights in my pick-up truck and a first aid kit and a couple blankets.

yes to flashlights and batteries
also have boatload of candles and matches
and just flip switch for generator
heat by woodstove when elec, goes out
propane works lots of other things;

can ya tell we lose power a little to often, the price of licing on a dirt road

I have a really good rechargeable one that will last for a good 10hrs before I go for the battery operated one. If you are in the North Easter part of North America, you might remember the blackout that lasted for 3 days?!

nah, i like candles alot better....i have a zillion of them, and those nice matches from yankee candle, the wooden ones in the little boxes!!!
