my car hit a curb in the rain. since then the alignment was messed up and then i was driving home from work a few days after and my car jerked to the left and i slowed down and stopped. i got out to look at my car and the front driver side tire was at an angle of about 30 degrees. i need to know what this could be or is and about how much it will cost. its a 1986 camaro.

Control arm or spindle. Take it to the shop immediately. You can not worry about the cost. Or just do not drive it. Your wheel is going to come off. That would be fun on the highway. You need to get it fixed. If it costs to much trade it in. It is 21 years old.

You don't state whether its the front or read wheel.....but your car is a rear wheel drive so to cover both.

If its the rear wheel, then yes you need a drive shaft but I have never seen one of these bend days after an accident.

If its the front then you broke/bent a lower or upper control arm. As for cost I would guess $150-$400

sounds like a tie rod if u r car savvy u can do it yourself if not it will cost about $200 to$300 at any shop. whatever it is its not the driveshaft like the other guy said , the driveshaft connects trany to differential nothing to do with steering or wheel placement

I would definetly get it to a shop where they can visually and road check and test it...once they pin-point the trouble you can then do it yourself or have them fix it...

Who knows, you may just need a hell of an aligment done...but
it's NOT safe to be on the road with that kinda of problem...you alone and others.

Best wishes...
