Hi,

It depends on what aspect of the movie you're interested in. For example if you are interested in the Normandy landing then you may want to try Saving Private Ryan. If you like to watch something more realistic then the current movie Flag of our fathers is pretty good and don't miss the upcoming Letters from Iwogima.

However, bear in mind that it's a Hollywood production and a lot of it ,hilst it looks authentic, many aspects of the show is greatly exaggerated.

Band of Brothers is so awesome! Saving private ryan is also very good. But there is also good movies whose story is connected to the second world war, like holocaust movies and so.Schindler's list and the Pianist are superb

good call on the Dirty Dozen. Saving Private Ryan (or the porn version, Saving Ryan's Privates, lol), and U-571. I also kinda liked Hart's War (Bruce Willis). Pearl Harbor though should not be listed in the top 1000.

if you are looking for one about the holocaust i would recommend "schindler's list" or "life is beautiful", or "out of the ashes". these tell about the horrible events the nazi's put the jews through. the holocaust is the foundation to world war 2. if it wasnt for hitler's descrimination against jews, ww2 would not have occured

if you are looking for a movie with more action and fighting, i recommend "pearl harbor" or "harts war"

I don't know which one was the best.... but I can mention some titles that I liked very much.
The Great escape (Steeve Mc Queen)
River Kwai Bridge (Alec Guinnes)
Dirty Dozen (Telly Savalas)
The Train (Burt Lancaster)
The Cannons of Navarone (Gregory Peck)
The Longest Day of the war (pantheon of stars)
Where the eagles dare (Richard Burton/Klind Eastwood)
