petrol is the best... like that person said. But if you can't stand the smell, use swan lighter fluid. it's easier to apply, and less offensive !

Ice. Rub the residue with ice and be patient. The residue has to harden before it will rub of the fabric. Used this idea to remove chewing gum from a friends hair without cutting took some time but it came of without any trace or damage.

PeanutButter. The oils in it breaks up the adhesives in the gum. Then you will need just a scub brush and some super hot water in a spray bottle. Don't worry, it will dry if you use a couple of good absorbing towels and a shop vac.

i am a carpet cleaner so this should work.first of all just gently rub over with a nail brush in a circular motion and then get a disposable razor and shave it off bit by bit.if any gum is still left then just simply repeat the process.

Go to a respectable garage and see if they can sell you some freezing spray. It hardens the gum and you can just pick it off any upholstery. The cleaners use it at the bus depot where i work. No problems

Wipe it with a bit of petrol. It will disolve the rubber compound of the gum and it will simply wipe off.

ICE !
Rub the gum with ice for about 30 secs. till it gets hard and usually it will peel off.
If that doesn't work, try "Goof-Off" or lighter fluid.
