I'm not old enough to remember either the original ska/bluebeat or two-tone, but i love all of the music! I got into Madness when they reformed for Madstock in '92 (one of the best gigs i have ever been to!), and then got into the Specials, Beat, Selecter etc, after that i started finding out about their influences from the 60's

Oooh yes! The intro to 'Gangsters' still excites me - used to listen to ska on John Peel and because he never spoke over music a lot of intros have become poignant. I was a punk but I enjoyed the ska movement also - never got the hang of dancing to it though.

What's that????

No, these guys were/are still awesome. My son likes Madness too and it's all my fault.

Your question made me think of the time I asked for Maya Angelou in a book store in a really, really small town.

The Specials, The Beat and Madness were great.

All the others were not much.

fantastic, they should revive it, not make a poor attempt like that tw*t preston out of the lame boys or whatever they're called. The two tone/ black&white scene is unforgettable
