The album is called "Modern Times" and is similar to his last two albums. The only difference is he does a few blues standards, but adds some of his own words to them. The critics have lauded this album as the last of the trilogy of "Time Out Of Mind" and "Love and Theft". It's very good, his vocals sound better that the last batch, but IMHO I prefer "Love and Theft" by a tiny margin. That doesn't mean the new album is a waste...far from it. It's worth at least 4.5 out of 5.0 and there are some truly great songs on it. Anything Dylan's done since 1997 is great stuff and he shows no doubt that he's the dominant songwriter/poet of our age. 65 years old and still fresh....something no other songwriter has been able to duplicate, in terms of longevity and relevance.

The latest album I have by Bob Dylan, who did all the lyrics (but definitely not all the compositions) was released in 2009: Bob Dylan: "Christmas In The Heart". I think it was released in time for the holidays in 2009 and it is regarded, at best, as a 'sleeper'.

Modern Times
Ask 100 people if they like it, not more than 10 would say yes.
I am happy to be one of the 10.
A big fan of Dylan for 20 years.

MODERN TIMES.
I think it is time for Bob to retire. I like Bob Dylan and have 7 Cds of his ... back to 1963. But Bob should hang it up. And Johnny Winter, too.
There are NO memorable songs on this CD, none that you will be humming after the CD is finished.
