Nervousness/embarassment. Like when a bunch of people start singing happy birthday to me, I get a bit embarass, so I sing with them, or clap when they clap at the end of the song. I DON'T DO WELL IN GROUPS OF PEOPLE!!

Several reasons
- It's a reaction.
- Getting caught up in the moment
- Clapping because they're happy about the situation.
- Believe it or not, some may not want all the attention. They feel uncomfratable with all eyes on them so they clap in hopes of warding off some attention.
And no it doesn't mean they're dumasses, or stuck up...

Maybe out of vanity but it could just be they get caught up in the moment. Everyone else's clapping and you just go with the flow. One contributing factor could be too much champers in the limo before hand.

They don't all do that. Those that do probably have a variety of reasons (e.g. ignorance of etiquette or they may consider it a way of acknowledging the applause of people applauding them)
