It would be great to get to the roots of terrorism. I agree with you that the dowry process is long past its useful time and should be eliminated. However, there are many other causes of terrorism and no one could possibly agree on all of them. At least one of the causes of terrorism are intolerant religions that teach that there is only one way to live and that all others are infidels who will go to hell. (This is true of at least a couple major religions, so I'm not trying to point out any one religion.)
By all means, do away with the practice of dowry. Then provide all children free access to secular (non-religious) schools.
