..it seems to me that by leaving Iraq while they are in a state of civil war (a situation our actions put them in) would be like firing a torpedo at a Luxury Liner because they may have been hijacked, and then leaving while all the innocent passengers drown! What do you think?

Smeezlene,
You obviously have no intelligence of your own and follow the directions of the Republicans. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 - NOTHING! Iraq did not have weapons of mass-destruction and were no threat to the US- none!

They're really not in a civil war.
Maybe it's just a question of terminology, but the violence isn't wide spread, like the media would like you to believe. Most Iraqi's (above 95%?) aren't even involved and simply go about their lives.
We do have an obligation to bring them into a position of protecting themselves, and they're almost there. The longer we stay, the better of they are and the better off the whole world is.

Well I think Europe should help. We did screw the region up pretty well, but we wouldn't have screwed them up if someone in the White House would have taken a peek at the history of the region. Through oppressive colonization the Europeans beat up on the Middle East and North Africe pretty good. Most of the countries over there are less than 75 years old.

Yes, US must not abandon the crisis that it has created for it would be irresponsible and hypocritical for it to do so as the invasion of Iraq was done in the name of world peace, i.e. destroying the non-existent WMD; and how is US going to sustain and protect world peace if it cant even ensure peace to one nation?

When you have the Military in charge of civilians, people get shot. Believe it or not, they don't like getting shot at.
Have a look at "Godzilla", and the attitude when military law was declared. It is never civilian friendly.

How do you figure we got Iraq into that position? Last time I checked--WE were struck by terrorists--does 9/11 ring a bell? Terrorism isn't just about one country and one person--it's about the network of terrorists and the countries they occupy. Think about it.

I think they should have thought about that possibility before they went in.
