I saw it with 7 gay guys total, and all I can say was - too long. Just like Brokeback - too long. Just like Lord of the Rings - too long.
Yes, we get it - they can sing. Yes, we get it - gay cowboys in love. Yes, we get it - they gotta get that freakin' ring to the whatever and New Zealand is pretty.
I thought Jennifer Hudson over acted. AND was this a movie on the 'Supremes' or a movie on 'Destiny's Child' cause I saw some similarities.

Gay drama to me is having a blonde, blue-eyed cop frisk me. I like the scene when he has to check my jock.

I don't know if it was GAY drama, but yes- I thought it was a bit long.
I kept waiting for the end and it would just NOT come.
Another song kept popping up, and although the costumes were beautiful to look at, the story was pretty much done 20 minutes before it actually ended.
Yeah it reminded me of LOTR, it's like, how many more hobbit huts do we have to look at before getting outta here!

you missed the whole point. thats how things basically were. im not going to disagree with you about jennifer but thats no reason to pan the whole movie. the sixities were a different time and blacks didnt have the easiest life then. try putting yourself in that mindset and it makes alot more sense.

Thought it was about singers...didn't know they were gay.
I may watch it on Pay per View someday...doubt it though.
