It is not that simple. When you purchase a cell plan you are purchasing the service not the phone. No carrier will work everywhere you go, so the best thing is to choose a provider with a tower at most places you find yourself such as home, work, school, family etc. Ask your friends or family and borrow different providers to find which has the best signals in your area. I would suggest you look into celltradeusa.com this is a website where you can purchase someone elses cell plan saving yourself a lot of money on activation fees, cost of phone, and accessories.

Cingular OX is a good service provider but really this will depend on where you are, where you want to call and how often you want to do this.
The best idea is to talk to the staff at any electronics stores about the plans and contracts that they offer as they will accommodate for your needs better than anyone over the inter net.

If your talking about prepaid cellphone I don't think anyone is cheaper than Net10 just .10 cents a minute for 150 buck you get 1500 minutes and a year of service. Don't trust to contracts cellphones unless you have a good lawyer

It depends from country to other.
Remember that same company has different prices for any different country.
Here in Romania, we have 70% - 80% of people cell phones. 21 million country. You know how much do we pay for a sms? 0,07 $ - same in Vodafone and Orange.
The minute - 0,22 $. in Orange
0, 17$ in Vodafone - I don't know for sure ...
So we pay very much for that.
