No, thank God, no.
When a person dies, cell death occures in the area most vital for "reanimation", the brain. Brain cells die within a matter of minutes when their oxygen supply has been cut off. The exception to this is in cases where the person's core bdoy temperature has dropped to a hypothermic level and the brain cooled quickly. There was a case in Canada where a toddler was "brought back" after being submerged in icey water and having no heart beat for over an hour. The cold slowed the metabolism of her brain and other vital organs enough such that they didn't need the usual amount of oxygen, but not enough such that she died.
In most cases, a child will be severely brain damaged if they go without oxygen for more than 10 minutes, and an adult, for less than that.
When cells die they typically explode because you can think of them as little factors that a wrench has been thrown into. Without oxygen the cells can't function properly and become unstable. A virs would have to work mighty quickly to regenerate things because this happens to millions of cells at a time.
So th only zombies in the world are those practicioners of voodoo who believe they've been zombified. They are indeed very alive though.
Once you are dead and decaying you cannot be brought back.

Possible, but highly improbable. That is, the scenario of "Resident Evil" is improbable. For one thing, why are all the zombies bent on eating humans? This is the same old "Night of the Living Dead" thing repackaged with a little more sex interest.

i don't think a reanimation virus or serum is possible. it could be possible to produce a compound that preys on a human being's tastes, and possibly create some kind of aversion so that the only thing we crave it raw meat. but in the same sense the virus would have to inhibit any kind of emotion, sense of consciousness, and instinct other than our most basic physiological needs for survival.

No, never. They may some day have regenerative microbots but dead cells are not animatable.
