Yeah, I agree with that.
Basically, it means, try to be at peace with yourself. Meaning don't beat yourself up for things you might think were mistakes, don't regret crap, etc.
I think that's a good credd. Never heard that exact quote, but I like it.

Going to war with oneself is a lot more of a guarantee that you will be Killed in Action than if you went to war with somebody else.
But there is a theory that self loathing will always find a way, if not actually conscious thoughts of suicide, then doing foolish things, taking risks and seeking wilder and wilder thrills until you harm yourself.
It's called Accident Prone.

When you're at war with yourself, surviving is a hard thing to do, and sometimes you even get beat by yourself, know what i mean?

No I'm always at war with myself. If I wasn't I would keep making the same mistakes over and over and always doing the wrong thing.

the only time i go to war with myself is when im on the pooper and i have to fight off the smell of bean burritos i tell ya you need a gas mask for the bathrooms in some places
