I have other people do it for me as I have been extremely ill with bronchitis/pleurisy and cannot take the cold as it makes me relapse so i have been dinkingaround on the computer and writing and answering as well as asking a LOT of "Q's" on Y!A...!!!!!!! In reply to your query it would take only a few mins by foot to the store, and about 20 mins walking to the market...i am blessed to have friends who care enough to understand that my doc was deadly serious when he said "NO going out!!!!!...Not for a week at least!!!.." ~ Thus my support factor is in movement and I awoke at 8 tonight thinking that it was Sunday morning!!!!!
gained a weekend night and Honey that so doesn't suck!!!!! So a few mins in answer to your "Q"...thanks...great question!!!

My son likes to throw fits in his car seat every once in a while as well, even on short trips. I find singing to him usually helps but not always. I try to make sure he has some toys to play with and at night I got one of those small reading lights from the dollar store so that he can still see, just make sure to clip it where it won't be in your view. It's gotten better since we switched to the convertible car seat instead of the infant carrier. He sits up much higher and can see out the window. However sometimes I just have to let him cry until he cries himself to sleep. Once he realized that his crying wasn't going to get the vehicle stopped he doesn't do it nearly as often. Good luck!

5 minutes by car, and to me even that's too long already, so I understand you hate the 1/2 hour drive.

It's a minute or two walk around the corner (it's 24 hrs). The bigger supermarket is about 4 blocks away (closes at 7pm-ish).
