We Hispanics(most) are a mixture of mulatto and mestizo, hence "creole",depending on the country we originate from. The only difference is that we speak Spanish or Portugese. South Africa mixed people are coloreds. What the hell is wrong with the American person of mixed blood and all that i am confused crap," i dont know know what I am" Please! Reseach mulatto, its not a derogative and see creoe. We are all Gods children, no denial based on ethinicity, so be mellow and let us know why.

If you read more about the usage of Creole in the US, you'll find that it really only refers to certain people and that the exact definition is anyone of ANY race (mixed or not) who has ancestors from colonial French Louisiana before it became part of the USA. I've never heard of anyone using it to refer to a person of mixed race in general. There has to be that connection to the French people. It's similar to the Cajuns where they usually have a connection to the Acadians (French Canadians) who ended up in Louisiana. It's not just a 'mixed person' it's anyone of any race with a particular type of French/Louisiana background that makes them Creole or Cajun.

The word Creole means something different in every place or country but in the US it is pretty much a specific thing. Cajuns are known as an ethnic group because they wanted to be and there was even a lawsuit that settled that matter. I don't know about the Creoles though.

mulatto is a term to describe anyone with black/white ancestry---during the slave years there were also terms such as quadroon, and octroon to determine the level of thewhite/black mixture. hey, i'm on your side--we are all god's people--anyone who was born and raised in the south has mixed blood(english,spanish,mexican,french,indian)- i've only been able to trace my family tree back four generations, and i'm part everything. don't worry abou it--just be yourself

Because we've got all kinds of ethnic/racial mixtures and, sometimes, the name that sticks for it don't make no seance. Look at how the US calls the native people "Indians."

I saw a midget once in a mall and I've never forgotten it. It was so damn short!
