Christ preached of love forgiveness and Charity. He said love thy enemy. He said turn the other cheek.
The right wingers always jump out and say he wasn't liberal because he was against abortion, and gay marriage. Well I have read the Bible(I don't just thump on its cover) And I can not find one single reference to Jesus discussing any of these topics. But in the book of Mathew 6 through 8 you will find His standing on religious hypocrasy, and charity and wealth.

Nikki please note I am not talking about Christians, I am talking about right wing republicans claiming to be Christians. As a Christian I think they are insulting and detremental to the cause of spreading the good news.

jnw mom Where in the Bible does JESUS ever even mention men lying with men. We are talking Jesus here. I am not saying that God is prohomosexuality, I am saying that Jesus was about no man throwing the first stone lest he hath not sinned. That it is in his words that Judgment belongs to God and God alone. I can show you these verses, can you show me yours?

Talk about not practicing what you preach!

You are implying that republicans hide behind their religion as a base to attack others and yet you are doing the same thing.

For a "Christian" you seem to hold a grudge and you seem to be content attacking people because of their political and religious beliefs. You even have the Gaul to attack people's sexuality, BTW I was not offended, I am comfortable with mine, enough to ignore little snide and baseless drivel.

Apparently you skipped over the part about casting the first stone and turning the other cheek.

Before you begin attacking others consider what you posted here.

I think you will find Hypocrisy comes in many guises. Even under that chef’s hat of yours.

I have read those chapters in Matthew also, and note Jesus' standing on those subjects. I do not know where you get the idea that ALL right wingers ALWAYS jump out and say . . . Why don't people like you note that Christians are not all the same? Answer to your question is that Christians do not have a core belief against Christ's beliefs, to the contrary! Why don't you understand that there are Christians every day giving their lives for others in this world, whether they are heros in our country performing above and beyond their duty, and others are in foreign countries showing love to the unloved and unfortunate with little to no compensation for their acts. Think beyond your normal sphere of understanding and you will get it!

Why do no longer you recognize that there are Christians every day giving their lives for others in this international, no remember if or no longer they are heros in our us of a appearing above and previous their accountability, and others are in distant places countries exhibiting like to the unloved and unlucky with little to no repayment for his or her acts. think of previous your general sphere of understand-how and you gets it!

noted your comments do not apply to me (not a Right wing republican) the gay thing is talked about all through the bible starting with the destruction of the city's Sodom and Gomorrah homosexuality was denounced by god as debauchery and the cities were leveled to the ground due to that and all manner of wickedness at the time! tho shall not kill... what is abortion?
Yes Jesus did not talk about those thing that does still not make them right in god's eyes because if god said it and Jesus said it and the holly spirit said it they all said it because all tree are one so god said it! i believe in the whole bible every word and just because Jesus did not say it does not mean it's not there...do you really read your bible? as for ruby lady "a fool in his heart hath said there is no god''...Christians are not perfect just forgiven "yes thank lord"

Jesus said that it was easier for the camel to pass through the eye of a needle, then it is for a rich man to enter into heaven.

But Jesus also speaks to us about receiving the best our father has to offer. Corinthians 9:9 As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor; his righteousness remainth forever. 10. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower, both minister bread for your food, and multiply your own seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness. 11. Being enriched in every thing to all boutntifullness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

People reap what they sow; if bad seed is swon into the ground it is unfruitful; but when we give from the heart, then our rewards are great.

There are all kinds of Christians out here, but those that follow the true word of God are those who will be blessed.

Each book of the Bible is connected to the other and each verse is cross-referenced to others within the text of the entire Bible. So in picking out one or two chapters in Matthew, you would also have to research other books to get to the heart of it.

Jesus also tells us that if we are lukewarm in our love, then he will spew us out.

The gay reference is pulled from Leviticus.

The abortion stand is based on thou shall not kill.

You are completely right. The Republican Party has used these two issues to gain control over the votes of the religious right in our country.

Why these honest, devoutly religious people can not see that the policies of this party are completely pro large business and entirely un-Christian, I do not understand.

How our religious leaders here could support a party bent on allowing the corporate destruction of God's creation with pollution is beyond me.

How can any man that believes in God condemn hundreds of thousands of innocents to death in order to promote a policy that benefits only the oil corporations?

Ghandi said he liked and respected Christ, but did not like his Christians. In large part I would agree with him.

I love your question! I personally don't consider myself a Christian, because my spiritual beliefs run along the new age/ pagan lines. But, I agree with you, about the difference between what Jesus actually taught, and what the so called Christian Right believe! Jesus would have been considered a liberal, and Jesus would have loved the Dali Lama!

Totally true. They don't abide by anything in Christianity that isn't beneficial to them. Conservatives operate in terms of "It should be all about ME".

I find it funnier that conservatives go around calling liberals and non-conservatives "whiney" and "emotional" when they go crazy over subjects like abortion, terrorism, and religion in the government.

I guess you skipped the verse where he said men will not lie with men. Many can twist the bible around to suit their needs..,look at Jim Jones.

Try looking at Romans1:18-27,it cant get any clearer than that.
