A hematoma is the medical term for a bruise, pure and simple. It is not a cancerous condition, merely an injury where a vein or capillary is broken and the blood is trapped within the skin- rather than able to leak out as with a cut. Malignacy refers to a cancerous growth, like a tumor. Hematomas can be the result of a cancerous process, such as leukemia, but are not cancerous in and of themselves.

make sure you have the spelling correct of what you are asking about-there are other"....omas" which are malignant/cancerous such as melanoma.Just double check it.
