I went to the gas station and they charged me .08 cent extra per gallon when I used my credit card. I just want to know the reasoning behind it cause not all places do that.

No, not all places do that, in fact, most don't. Most businesses that charge extra to use a credit card say it is because of the fees they have to pay to the credit card companies to process the payments. Large companies just factor it into their costs, but for some small businesses, it can be a problem.

To make more money thats all. Here where I live outside Ft Knox Kentucky, the Wallmart gives you 3 cents off a gallon if you use a gift card, so me and the wife keep a giftcard and put money on it, we filled all 3 vehicles yesterday for 1.83 a gallon..... cant beat that with a stick......or a yeti! :)

The cash and credit card purchase should be the same for gas. However, a merchant can charge you extra when you use a credit card..
