I don't believe that age really matters.The actions you do and how you communicate with people that gives you respect.

I noticed it all throughout my teens and twenties. The last respect barrier I seemed to reach was 30 years old. It felt like when I reached 30 people felt as though I had enough real world experience to stop questioning me about how I arrived at the opinions and world view I have formed.
The one I felt (noticed) the most was my 21st B-day. I had been serving my country in the Army since I was 18 (and I carried a gun everyday because I was an MP) yet I had finally reached the age at which I was free to go and unwind with my squad, off duty.

Yes, I do. Everybody who is like above in their 50s and above that and if they actually act the way they should (not like our usual Hollywood oldies) they really look respectable and automatically gain respect even if somebody doesn't know them.

After I hit about thirty. There older you are in the trades the more people figure you know.
