Why is it that the world sucks even more now then before? I thought we were supposed to be making progress. Music groups (mostly punk, rap and even pop) are activly promoting suicide, murder, rape, drugs and other such things like they are cool. Some groups (like black eyed peas) promote using sex as a tool to get material things. People are being discriminated if they can't affoard phat farm jeans or nike shoes. Your now cool if your a jerk to everyone and openly rude. It seems like these have all multiplied from the past by a factor of ten. Back in the 70's it was peace, love, acceptance, peaceful rebelion and demolishing fads. I guess my question is, are we making reverse progress? Will they continue, and am I alone in thinking that the media is playing us like a harp from hell?

The efforts to "Teach our children well", decreases with every new generation, while access to weapons, violence, crime, etc, increases.
Also, you're very right in saying the media plays us like a harp from hell. Pushing credit cards and debit cards, ugh, don't get me started on that one.

Everybody just needs to sit back and take a breath and realize that the mankind was always populated by jerks. Sex has ALWAYS been a tool for people to get what they want. Discrimination among social classes back in the dark ages, or even Victorian times would completely disgust you. The simple fact is, the world is not getting worse, it's always sucked Everyone for the last 5000 has thought that the world was getting worse simply because they only remember the "good old days"

interesting that these people in commercial fields promote these things and behavior, but lol do they participate in them themselves, especially the suicide one, yeah right, these groups are as people said forty and fifty years ago about the current trend, garbage and nonsense, really what do these groups do, to enhance social behavior and anything positive for an individual
