30 degrees here in KS., which is HOT compared to last week when it was 6 degrees!

Then what would you say for 40 degrees c.
In my part of the world, it's the first year in my WHOLE LIFE to experience winter ;)

it depends on where you are, for instance if you are in desert, then it's not that hot, but if you are somewhere where is really high humidity then its hot. look, dry air is transmits heat really bad, but if there is some moisture then it transfers heat better, more "wet" air - better heat transfer. same for cold, like if you are somewhere where air is dry then -15 Celsius is not that cold as -15 Celsius somewhere where humidity it only on 5% higher (for instance Moscow and high mountain somewhere in Caucasia, for the same temperature in Moscow is not that cold as in Tbilisi)

It is hot now, but a few days ago, it was real cold with torrential rain.
