YES! You can feed them Earth Worms.

These guys don't know anything about goldfish who says earth-worms shouldn't be feed to goldfish.

Earth Worm is very good food for goldfish. Earth worms are very good laxative and they are also rich in raw protein and fats. Gold fishes love earth worms. But care shall be taken to put the earth worms in a cardboard box with a wet tissue for two days to remove all the mud in their stomachs before feeding. Earth worms normally do not carry any parasites.

Many profesional breeders feed earthworms to their goldfish.

Do people think wild fish eat flakes and pellets?? Breeders in the orient give young fish worms for the protein to make them grow faster, but I don't know that these are earthworms - probably blackworms or bloodworms. They need less protein as they grow and should be gradually converted to more plant material.

The ancestors of goldfish ate a combination of plants, insects and invertebrates. Here are some websites that offer feeding advice for your goldfish:

You can give your goldfish earthworms as a treat as long as he's big enough to eat them! Just be careful where you get them (pesticides & other chemicals). You can also raise worms in small containers (one of my salamanders has a breeding population in his tank from fishing bait that was too large for him to eat - so they reproduce and he gets all the small ones).

First off, WHY do people insist on answering questions that they haven't a clue as to the correct answer?!? Please stop guessing! If you don't know the answer, don't give one! Goldfish are omnivores, which means that they eat meat and vegetation. We feed them freeze-dried bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp and other meat-type products all the time. You could try feeding earthworms to your goldfish, however, whenever any crawled into my pond, my goldies never ate them. Each fish has their own taste and I could feed one goldfish one thing and they loved it and another would turn their nose up at it. So, what one fish hates, another may love. You won't know until you try. I would suggest making sure they're clean and from a garden without fertilizer or pesticides and give them a couple of days in a box to get rid of all of the mud inside of them and then chop them in small pieces.

Yes you can. Just be sure they were not injected with any kind of hormones. From your yard, go for it. Koi as well. Outside ponds when I am gardening and run across grubs and redworms, earthworms etc. I toss them into the pond. The fish love them. No matter what anyone says, they will not hurt your fish. This is natural food for them and since goldfish are scavangers anyway, feed em. They'll think it was a treat. I often find bugs and things for my inside fish, however it is just easier to toss them into one ofmy outside ponds during the summer.
Don't worry about chopping them up. They will take care of that on their own.

Yes, like some others said chop them up and make sure they came from somewhere that doesnt have tons of pesticides. Goldfish will eat almost anything that can fit in their mouths including smaller fish.

no way...you don't feed earthworms to your goldfish. you feed earthworms to birds. goldfish are supposed to eat fish flakes. feeding an earthworm to a goldfish will cause the water to get cloudy very quickly also.

Yes, but make sure they are not earthworms from your yard. Worms fro the yard usually contain pesticides and/or fertilizers that will kill your fish.
