Im a snob?? See,, I moved to a new school about a year ago. I still hardly know people that good... & at school I usually dont talk to people unless they talk to me first. Its not b/c I dont want to talk to them its just because I dont know what to say to them. But if they talk to me first, then I know what to say b/c a conversation has already started. But yet.. some ppl at my school think Im a snob? Why do they think this && what can I do to change there opinions about me. I cant just go up and talk to them b/c I dont know what to say,, and Id wonder if theyd even want me over there to talk to them.

Why do THEY have to come up to YOU and talk first? Don't be shy. Just go talk to someone if they seem interesting. A lot of times the other person has the same neurosis as you do.

It's a pretty natural reaction to consider someone a snob when they don't talk to other people. They often don't consider the possibility that you're shy and maybe even a bit intimidated by being in a new place. The best way to solve this is to start talking to people. If you feel awkward just walking up to people then you could make a greater effort to talk to people in class (when it won't interrupt the teacher).

You could also make a point of going to the football and basketball games. Find a place to sit near people you recognize but don't necessarily know. At some point they are likely to look at you. This is your opening to just say hi. If you don't know their name, introduce yourself.

If you see someone from school at the mall or something, walk up and say "I've seen you at school. My name is so and so, what's yours".

It's kind of funny thought. I know what kind of advice to give to a person in you situation but I have difficulty following the same advice myself.

sweetie, sometimes our facial structures are to be blamed of (like pouty lips, chinky eyes...etc.) or minute facial expressions... or some people are envious over you. nevertheless, to eliminate the idea that you are not welcoming, try to smile most of the time. your smile will make a difference in how they perceive you. ALSO develop your social skills, be interested in them, find your commonalities and you will know what to say when you talk to them. ;)

Why do you think that you don't know what to say to people if they come up to you and talk? You sound like you're doing pretty good here. And there isn't much difference, is there?
