we were just at a McDonalds, and i noticed on the bill theres an eat in tax. and when we were at Giant Eagle, the local supermarket) i got a coffee and they asked me if it was for there or to go. I was going into the store so i said for here, and they charged me an eat in tax also. If i am already pying for the food, y sould i have to pay to eat it inside???( I eat at McDonalds maybe 3times a year, so i never seen this until now!!!)

where does this go on at i have never heard of anything like that. I would think that since your giving them business by buying their food the could at least let you eat in their restaurant for free. I personally wouldn't buy food from a place like that, I mean the food is already over priced as it is.

You know, I just noticed this, too. I was looking at the receipt and saw "Eat in tax". I was shocked, too. I wondered if they have been charging it all along and I just missed (I never look at the receipt) or if they just started it. I am sure it is for the using the chairs, tables, heating/air conditioning, play area. I told myself next time they ask "For here or to go?" I'll just say "To go" and then conveniently 'change my mind' and eat in. I haven't done it yet, though!
